Virtual reality is employed at HKPU to teach nursing

Hong Kong Polytechnic University has developed a virtual learning system dubbed "Virtual Hospital" that makes use of virtual reality (VR) technology in order to deliver a cutting-edge experiential approach to nursing education.

Virtual Medical is the first system of its kind in Hong Kong and replicates the complex setting of a hospital ward virtually.

The system's 11 games feature five situations, including "Clinical Practicum Orientation" and "Challenges of Delirium."

More than 1,200 combinations of randomized situations and numerous options are used to simulate the complex and chaotic environment of the ward, which can aid students in honing their clinical observation, resilience, and decision-making abilities.
