Hacker who targeted Ed Sheeran and Kanye West jailed

Hacker Adrian Kwiatkowski has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stealing and selling music from artists such as Ed Sheeran and Frank Ocean. Kwiatkowski hacked the artists’ cloud-based accounts and sold their songs on the dark web in exchange for cryptocurrency. He made £131,000 ($147,000) selling these artists' unreleased music, according to the City of London Police. The hacker pleaded guilty to several charges including 14 copyright offenses and three counts of computer misuse. Authorities also discovered that Kwiatkowski also gained access to the cloud-based accounts of other artists and sold their music online also. Kwiatkowski also allegedly hacked Kanye West, Post Malone and Lil Uzi Vert. Cybercrime knows no borders, and this individual executed a complex scheme to steal unreleased music in order to line his own pockets, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L Bragg Jr.
