Drone footage shows bluefin tuna school feeding frenzy off the coast of Britain

A drone pilot captured a school of enormous bluefin tuna during a feeding frenzy off the coast of Britain. Breathtaking aerial footage shows the large fish breaking the water as they rounded up fish into a 'bait ball' before feeding just off 'The Island' at St Ives, Cornwall. Construction worker Simon Smith captured the rare footage and posted it to his 'Droneman' Facebook page. He was alerted after volunteers at NCI Coastwatch spotted the tuna in the bay and posted the sighting on their social media. Simon, 54, got in touch with the organisation and rushed to the area with his drone, hoping to capture the predators in action and spent two hours filming the hunting fish. "It's super exciting. It was something I've never seen before. So it was a first for me," said Simon, from Relubbus, a small village near Penzance. "They're getting more common as the water warms. It was special to watch. You never know when they're going to pop up. "They're were all around, near Land's End, Falmouth, St Ives. Is it something that will get more and more common? I don't know." Simon filmed the event on the afternoon of Friday the 14th, October.
