Whatsapp More Secure Than Imessage

In its new advertising campaign, Meta ($META@US) draws attention to Apple’s iMessage ($AAPL@US), suggesting that data on WhatsApp is more private and secure than iMessage. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared an image of the ad on his Instagram account, stating “WhatsApp is far more private and secure than iMessage, with end-to-end encryption.” End-to-end encryption is a feature that prevents the provider of the service from seeing the content of the texts, and it can’t provide them in response to a legal request. Zuckerberg went on to say that WhatsApp is “a far more private and secure platform.” WhatsApp introduced encrypted backups last year, and it has a feature that allows WhatsApp users to set new messages to automatically delete.
