Former Western Australia Premier calls on club to drop sponsor Woodside

Former West Australian premier Carmen Lawrence is calling on the free mantle dockers to end its partnership with woodside energy and look at alternative sponsorship arrangements. Carmen Lawrence is among a group of high-profile dockers members calling on the club to cut ties with the oil and gas giant on environmental grounds. The club's president Dale Alcock has defended the sponsorship deal and says there are no plans to terminate it. Ms Lawrence says woodside's Scarborough gas project is an indicator that the company has little intention of being environmentally responsible.
