Taiwan says it has deployed missile defense systems to monitor Chinese warplanes in the Taiwan Strait. The country is currently conducting military exercises in the southern county of Pingtung. This is all against a backdrop of consistent Chinese military pressure around the island after U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan earlier this month.
