Russian forces struck energy infrastructure in the Kyiv region, Ukraine’s grid operator said, hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested that a days-long barrage was over, “at least for now.
Putin appeared to acknowledge growing discontent at home, assuring Russians that his partial mobilization of military reservists, which has prompted tens of thousands of men to flee the country, would end in two weeks.
He made the comments as Washington announced an additional $725 million of weaponry and other aid for Kyiv.
