Sydney officially records its wettest year on record

2022 is officially Sydney’s wettest on record. 2,200 millimetres of rain has been recorded so far this year. Sydney's previous rainfall record was set in 1950, when 2,194mils was dumped over the city. The New South Wales government says the rain is set to get heavier over the weekend peaking on Saturday. It's encouraging drivers to be extra cautious on the roads. Emergency resources are ready to be deployed where there's a high risk of flash flooding.
