Rockstar Games has confirmed that it recently “suffered a network intrusion” that resulted in the massive leak of 90 videos of early development versions of Grand Theft Auto 6..
Where did it come from? The hacker says the footage was obtained by breaking into Rockstar's Slack channel, the communication platform used for internal collaboration. The 90 videos were posted there, he says, and were easily downloaded..
Most notably, it appeared to confirm a rumour that GTA 6 will feature a playable female protagonist for the first time. It also appeared to reveal that the game will take place in Vice City, a fictionalised version of Miami which was the setting for the 2002 game GTA: Vice City.
