Norco to sack 170 workers despite rescue package offer
  • 2 years ago
Lismore's dairy giant Norco is going ahead with plans to stand down 170 ice cream factory staff despite being offered a 35-million-dollar flood rescue package. The factory was smashed by flood waters earlier this year and repairs of the factory are estimated to cost around 70 million dollars. The company has said that the ending of the government's bespoke 'financial wage support funding' is playing a big part in the layoffs.
