TWO Pakistani cricket fans were killed when rifles were fired in celebration of their victory over Afghanistan, sparking riots among supporters.

Peshawar supporters in Pakistan were celebrating reaching the Asian Cup final after their T20 win at the Sharjah International Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.

A dramatic end to the match saw Pakistan qualify for Sunday's showpiece by a wicket in the last over, and they will now face Sri Lanka for the trophy.

According to Geo Live, fans rejoicing in the streets of Pakistan fired shots into the air to celebrate, leaving two dead.

The report states that three other women were injured in the devastating accident.

It is said that 41 people have been arrested by the police for their part in the incident.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's victory over Afghanistan turned into chaos in the United Arab Emirates as fans came to blows after the match.

In shocking scenes, supporters from Afghanistan could be seen pulling out chairs and throwing them at Pakistan fans, who in turn threw them back.

Footage revealed that one of the unarmed Pakistani fans was hit in the back multiple times with a chair.

Afghan spectators were seen trying to defuse the situation by snatching chairs from their fellow fans and trying to calm them down.

Former Pakistani star Shoaib Akhtar criticized Afghan fans on social media, where she urged former Afghanistan Cricket Board chief executive Shafiq Stanikzai to learn of the incident.

He tweeted: "This is what the Afghan fans are doing.

"This is what they have done in the past several times.

"This is a game and it's supposed to be played and taken in the right spirit.

"Shafiq Stanikzai, your fans and your players need to learn a few things if they want to grow in the sport."

There have been claims that the ugly scenes took place after Afghan bowler Fareed Malik abused Asif Ali, leading to a fight between the players.

Along with the on-field attacks, online clips have shown both sets of supporters engaging in brawls outside the stadium.
