India and China begin disengagement in Gogra-Hotsprings area of LAC in Ladakh

India and China have begun disengagement in the Gogra- Hotsprings area of LAC in Ladakh on September 8.

The disengagement is a major peace-building step aimed at mending frayed ties between the two neighbouring countries. The disengagement process was initiated as per the consensus reached in the 16th round of the India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting.

The Meeting took place at the Moldo border point on the Chinese side of LAC in eastern Ladakh.
