Andy Ruiz Jr Calls Out Deontay Wilder for Huge Fight after Knocking Down Luis Ortiz THREE Times Win

Andy Ruiz Jr has admitted that he is looking for a momentous fight with Deontay Wilder after defeating Luis Ortiz in a WBC title eliminator.

Ruiz dropped Ortiz three times en route to the unanimous decision victory in Los Angeles.

The Destroyer dropped the 43-year-old Ortiz twice in the second round and again in the seventh, but the Cuban struggled with a severely swollen left eye and punched more accurately during long periods of relative inactivity for both fighters.

Wilder, who was ringside to see Ruiz win, returns to the ring next month in a separate WBC eliminator against Robert Helenius.

And if the Bronze Bomber beats the 38-year-old, he would be in line to fight Ruiz for the right to challenge Tyson Fury for the belt.

Ruiz has already shown his willingness to go ahead with the fight against the 36-year-old boxer if he wins, and asked Premier Boxing Champions boss Al Haymon to strike a deal.

"God willing [Wilder] wins against Robert in October," Ruiz said after his victory.

"He and I are in the same organization, I want to thank Al Haymon, he can make this fight happen and let's do it, let's move on."

Ruiz pulled off one of the biggest upsets in recent heavyweight history when he took all three championship belts from Anthony Joshua in 2019, only to lose them to his British opponent six months later.

Ruiz had fought just once since then, but he dropped his head again in training hoping to get another shot at the belts.

"I don't want to be waiting," Ruiz said. 'I want to fight at least three or four times a year. I'm hungry, man. I want to be champion again.

"It was very difficult," Ruiz added of the fight. 'I was waiting for him to charge and countering him when he did. It was a blessing that we were able to succeed.'

Wilder hasn't fought since he lost his trilogy fight against WBC champion Fury in October of last year.

But Wilder sent a warning to the rest of the division that he is ready to do his best once again.
