The first batch of Chinese aid reached flood-hit Pakistan on August 30, 2022, as the Y-20 transport aircraft of the People’s Liberation Army delivered 3,000 tents in the southern city of Karachi. An exceptional monsoon has submerged one-third of the country and displaced millions of residents. China has pledged assistance worth nearly 100 million yuan (US$14.5 million).
