QC AIDS DISPLACED WORKERS

Quezon City Mayor Josefina 'Joy' Belmonte leads the launch of the 'Alagang QC Program for Displaced Workers' at the Risen Garden within the City Hall compound on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022. The project under the local government's Public Employment Service Office (PESO) was designed to help workers who were either retrenched or laid off as a result of the pandemic and economic crisis. Fifty employees from the Colegio de San Lorenzo were among the initial beneficiaries. Also present were Vice Mayor Gian Carlo Sotto and Rep. Franz Pumaren.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora attends the inauguration of the El Polvorin linear park at the San Juan Elementary School on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022 to celebrate the 126th Anniversary of the Battle of San Juan Del Monte, commonly known as 'Araw ng Pinaglabanan'. The El Polvorin is the gun powder depot of the Spaniards, which the Katipuneros or Filipinos who fought against Spanish colonization attacked in the historical battle in 1896. Zamora was joined by Mrs. Keri Zamora, lawyer Bel Zamora, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Carlo Dimayuga 4th.
