Fox reports that the White House has announced
a summit to address issues regarding hunger,
nutrition and health in the United States. .
In May, U.S. President Joe Biden said that the event will
help realize the administration's goal to end hunger in
the U.S. and reduce diet-related diseases by 2030.

was held by the White House was in 1969.
Lack of access to healthy and affordable
foods is one of many factors impacting
hunger and diet-related diseases.
The COVID-19 pandemic has
exacerbated these challenges further, Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary, via Fox.
The summit is expected to bring
together leaders from the government,
academics and activist groups.
According to Jean-Pierre, the purpose of the summit is to develop a national strategy that identifies actions the government can take to ...
"catalyze the public and private sectors to drive transformative change and address the intersections between food, hunger, nutrition and health.".
The plan would also reportedly address ways the U.S. could reduce disparities among communities who are impacted by these issues the most.
