Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday appointed Bhupendra Singh as the new UP BJP president. The UP Cabinet minister was appointed as the party chief reportedly with the aim to reach out to the infuential Jat community in the State. The Jat community was at the forefront of the farmers' protests surrounding the three farm laws and this move can be seen as an attempt to win their trust.
