New library helps Afghan women counter isolation as Taliban cuts off access to education
  • 2 years ago
A new library in Kabul has been set up by a group of Afghan women to counter their growing sense of isolation as the Taliban increasingly cuts off their access to education. The library opened on August 24, 2022, with over 1,000 books, including nonfiction titles about politics, economics and science. The collection was mostly donated by teachers, poets and authors.
