Australians have withdrawn $1.6b from super for surgeries

Tens of thousands of Australians have withdrawn almost $1.6 billion from their superannuation to cover medical treatments in the last three years. According to new figures obtained by the ABC, the amount of superannuation approved for release on medical grounds is now almost 20 times higher than in the 2010-11 financial year.
