Failure to decriminalise Indigenous cultural fishing in NSW contradicts Closing the Gap targets, inquiry hears

An inquiry into Indigenous fishing rights has heard about the negative impact convictions and bans from the ocean are having on First Nations people. The NSW upper house today examined why laws passed more than a decade ago decriminalising cultural fishing have still not come into effect.
