INDEPENDENCE DAY SHOOTING COMPETITION HELD AT SECURITY DIVISION HEADQUARTERS; DIPLOMATIC CORPS AND PERSONNEL OF LEAs PARTICIPATED


Independence Day Shooting competition held on the occasion of Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Independence Day at Security Division Headquarters.

Diplomatic corps, LEAs and SSU Commandos including lady commandos participated in the competition and exhibited their professional skills in the categories of Precise Shooting, Rapid Shooting and 9mm pistol shooting.

Diplomatic corps from United States of America (USA), Russia, Britain, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Qatar participated in the competition. Whereas, teams of Pakistan Rangers, Customs, Karachi Port Trust, Airport Security Force (ASF), Frontier Constabulary (FC), Special Security Unit (SSU), Rapid Response Force (RRF) and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre (SBB, EPTC) participated from LEAs.

In individual 9mm pistol shooting category of diplomatic corps, Justin Garofalo, Luke Pesci and Micheal from US Consulate secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. While, in team category US Consulate got 1st, Russian Consulate got 2nd and British Consulate secured 3rd position.

In individual Precise and Rapid Shooting category of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Abdullah Khan, Abdul Shakoor of SSU and Subhan of Sindh Rangers secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. While in female category, Sidra Hassan of SSU, Rafia of Sindh Rangers and Samina of Airport Security Force secured 1st position, 2nd and 3rd positions in the competition.

Whereas, team category of law enforcement agencies, SSU got 1st, Sindh Rangers got 2nd and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre (SBB, EPTC) secured 3rd position.

DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed was the chief guest of the event who lauded, felicitated the winner contenders and distributed prizes amongst the winners.

DIG Security said that aim to organize shooting competition is to promote mutual cooperation among institutes and diplomats, as per past practice, Security Division has organised the event this year which is welcoming move as such kind of events promote positive image of the country across the world.

Later, the chief guest thanked all the participants of the event.
