A 5-month-old pet pig has mastered over TWENTY tricks including sit, jump and high-five - and can even demand food, water and kisses using unique pet training buttons Mina Alali, 24, decided to train her 5-month-old miniature pot-bellied pig Merlin to strengthen their bond and show the world how smart pigs are. She got to work straight away and taught him 10 tricks in the first month she had him including sit, jump, twirl, kiss, shake, high-five and wait. He can also oink on command, identify and seek out red, green and blue items, play with a soccer ball, oink his favourite toy, go to bed when told and will even turn off Mina’s 5 am alarm in the mornings. She decided to step up his training and purchase some recordable pet training buttons to help him communicate his needs. Mina decided to add her own spin on the buttons by hilariously adding curse words to the end of Merlin’s demands. Merlin has 6 buttons to choose from that announce different phrases such as ‘I’m hungry b***h’, ‘I need water b***h’, ‘time to wake up b***h’ and ‘I want a kiss b***h’, as well as a cheeky ‘yes b***h’ option and even one to demand his owner to ‘take a shot’. Mina, an Influencer Manager from San Jose, California, has had Merlin for just under four months and is very proud of the progress he’s made. She posts videos to the social media app TikTok, where she has almost 1 million followers who are fascinated by her life with a pet pig and Merlin’s progress. Mina said: “I love training animals and creating strong, loving bonds. “I’ve always wanted a pig as a pet so I decided to get Merlin to make my life more interesting. “My favourite thing is his looks up at me when he knows he got a trick right - it’s so sweet!”
