Kathryn Newton, who will portray Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, stopped to pose with Ant-Man on a recent trip to Disney. Newton is the third actress to have portrayed Cassie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, Cassie was portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson. However, Cassie wasn't among the blipped, hence, when Avengers: Endgame came around, she had aged 5 years. This made Fortson too young to portray her and resulted in Emma Furhman portraying the older Cassie in Avengers: Endgame.
In 2020, as details of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania were revealed, it was announced that Cassie Lang had been recast again and would now be portrayed by Newton. Meanwhile, Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer will all be returning to reprise their previous roles. Marvel never did address why they recast Cassie again. However, Newton is certainly a strong candidate for the role given her previous credits in the likes of Big Little Lies, Gary Unmarried, and The Society. So far, the actress seems to be embracing her role as Cassie.
