'Extra' mum transforms beach hut in 12 hours ahead of visitors coming with reupholstered beds and pamper kits

An 'extra' mum transformed her beach hut in just 12 hours ahead of visitors coming - complete with reupholstered beds, rolled towels and pamper kits. Kelly Tesauro, 55, decided to go all out when her daughter Quinn Tesauro, 24, announced that she was having friends over to stay on Fire Island in New York. Before the mum got to work in June last year, the beach hut featured lime green walls and beds collapsed to the side of the room. But, after catching an early ferry, account executive Kelly reupholstered the beds, painted the walls white, and positioned carefully rolled towels on the beds. She even bought convenience kits for Quinn's friends, containing deodorant, hairspray, shampoo, conditioner, a razor, toothpaste, a toothbrush and floss. Quinn was amazed when she saw what her mum had done to the beach hut in 12 hours and was quick to film the transformation - declaring her mum 'the most extra person'. Post creative strategist Quinn, who lives in Bay Shore, New York, with her mum Kelly and her dad, ferry captain Billy Tesauro, 56, said: "Only Kelly could do this! "I spend my summers on Fire Island and usually don’t get to see my home friends too often during that time. "Two of my friends were home for the weekend and were planning on going out to some of the bars on the island so I offered to have them stay over one night so we could all go out together. "I told my mom a few days in advance that I was having guests and she said she needed to get the room in order - it was my sister's room and it hadn’t been set up since the year prior. "She caught the ferry over the day my friends were coming, and I thought she was just going to put some sheets on the bed and fix the mattresses but she took the chance to completely redo the room. "The room hadn’t been redone since we were kids and the walls were bright green so I think she was tired of looking at them. "I had no idea she had planned to redo the room until I saw the finished product. She had planned it out enough to go to the store and get paint, fabric and new bedding to match. "I was shocked, I had no idea she was going to go that far but I was amazed! "She came over on a 9AM ferry and left by 6PM and was able to do that much in such a short time. "Even going so far as to stack the towels and get cute little overnight kits was wild but very on brand for my mom. "She’s originally from the South so her southern hospitality kicked in to full gear!"
