Land Mattress

Footage of Canadian troops testing and operating a Projector, Rocket 3-Inch, No. 8 MK. I. It was nicknamed the "Land Mattress" after the naval version, the "Sea Mattress", which was it based upon. An explanation of the rocket launcher is also provided in the video. These rockets were used to support the First Canadian Army fighting in the Scheldt, the clearing of the Rhineland during Operation Veritable, and the crossing of the Rhine during Operation Plunder. It was one of the most speculator looking weapons used by the Canadian Army during World War 2.

It is said there is only one surviving Land Mattress left. It is in the Canadian War Museum's collection. Footage of it can be seen here: https://youtu.be/yXAWtO0CIho
