Spotlight: Nuclear disarmament

The Obama administration is gearing up for early negotiations with Russia on a new treaty that would sharply reduce stockpiles of nuclear warheads. Therefore President Barack Obama is fulfilling his promise that he seeks verifiable reductions in all U.S. and Russian nuclear weapons. Russia has welcomed the idea. Do the negotiations have a good chance to succeed?
We’ll be talking about it with Andrew Kuchins, the director and senior fellow of the Russia and Eurasia programme at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, and Aleksandr Konovalov, the President of the Institute of Strategic Assessments and a professor at the Moscow State University of Foreign Relations.
