Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Wednesday flew out of the country and landed in the Maldives. Gotabaya Rajapaksa had earlier hinted he would not resign till his family got a safe exit from the country.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa took a late-night military jet and landed at the airport in Maldives's capital, Male. The President fled his country with five of his family members and three staffers.

A day after PM Narendra Modi invoked 'Maa Kali', TMC MLA Madan Mitra slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Modi Ji should tell us one thing who he follows? Earlier he said that he follows Lord Ram, then he went to Varanasi by taking the name of Lord Shiva. After that he came to visit West Bengal and started taking the name of Durga, saying it is BJP's Durga Puja. We need to know his hidden agenda behind this," said Madan Mitra.
