The Supreme Court has sentenced fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya to four months in a contempt case. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 2000 on Mallya. Along with this, it has also been said that if Vijay Mallya does not pay the fine, then there will be an additional punishment of 2 months. The Supreme Court also said that Mallya should deposit 40 million US dollars back with interest within four weeks. Failure to do so will result in attachment of Mallya's properties. The court said in a stern tone that the officers would be free to take attachment proceedings.

अवमानना से जुड़े एक मामले में Supreme Court ने भगोड़ा कारोबारी विजय माल्या को 4 महीने की सजा सुनाई है. कोर्ट ने माल्या पर 2000 रुपए का जुर्माना भी लगाया है. साथ ही ये भी कहा गया है कि अगर विजय माल्या ने जुर्माना नहीं दिया तो 2 महीने की अतिरिक्त सजा होगी. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ये भी कहा कि माल्या चार सप्ताह के भीतर ब्याज के साथ 40 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर वापस जमा करे. ऐसा करने में विफल रहने पर माल्या की संपत्तियों की कुर्की की जाएगी. कोर्ट ने सख्त लहजे में कहा कि अफसर कुर्की की कार्यवाही करने के लिए स्वतंत्र होंगे.
