Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who carved an identity as a political leader in Maharashtra and overturned power, had tears in his eyes. Recalling an incident during his address in the assembly, he burst into tears. He narrated the incident when his son and daughter drowned before his eyes and he was helpless to do nothing. This incident had such a profound effect on his poison, that he had at one time distanced himself from public life and also distanced himself from politics.
