Yashwant Sinha, the joint candidate of the opposition, who contesting the presidential election, filed his nomination on Monday. Many veteran leaders of opposition parties including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were present during Yashwant Sinha's nomination. The Congress party claims that Yashwant Sinha has got the support of more than 17 parties.
