On June 23, Uddhav Thackeray faced more trouble as Maharashtra crises peaked. 37 Shiv Sena MLAs of the Eknath Shinde faction wrote to the Governor and Deputy Speaker. The MLAs named Eknath Shinde as their legislature party leader. This move by Eknath Shinde came soon after Team Thackeray filed disqualification applications for 12 rebels with the Deputy Speaker. Shinde tweeted, “Who are you trying to scare? We know your make-up and the law too!” Eknath Shinde now has the support of 37 MLAs, the number required to split the party in the assembly, reported NDTV. NCP chief Sharad Pawar told reporters, “A floor test will decide who has the majority.” Watch the video to know more.
