Ilford fire: 15 fire engines and 100 firefighters fight blaze in tower block

Dozens of firefighters and 15 fire engines have been sent to tackle a blaze in a 15-storey high-rise block in Ilford.
A fire service spokesperson said: “The brigade was called at 2.47pm. Fire crews from Ilford, Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
“The Brigade's 999 Control Officers have taken more than 40 calls to the blaze. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”
