Children under the age of 18 aren't considered developmentally advanced enough to vote, or to drink.

The Commission of Inquiry has heard Tasmanian children as young as 12 in the state are able to make a choice about where they live... even if that means living with their abuser. Advocacy and non-government organisations appeared at the inquiry today - saying they repeatedly raise concerns about particular children in the care of the state.
