Pakistanis have been suffering worsening heatwaves since March 2022. The city of Jacobabad became the hottest city on Earth on May 14, 2022, when temperatures hit 51 degrees Celsius (124 Fahrenheit). Pakistan is the eighth most vulnerable country on Germanwatch’s Long-Term Climate Risk Index.
