'Lord of The Rings' Was Filmed In These Locations

Director Peter Jackson was born in Wellington, New Zealand to English parents. His film career began with a number of independent, low-budget splatter films but the screenplay of 1994s Heavenly Creatures earned him an Oscar nomination and helped him transition to mainstream filmmaking. A few years after that, he began making The Lord of the Rings trilogy and would use his native country as the backdrop.
