Rajya Sabha elections witnessed high political drama with parties crying foul over ‘unfair’ polling practices. A big contest for 16 seats in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Haryana forced political parties to resort to cross-voting and resort politics to secure a seat in the Upper House. Both the BJP and Congress knocked the Election Commission’s door, on one hand the BJP alleged breach of protocol on the other hand Congress accused the BJP of delaying the voting.
