The new federal government is being urged to fix an age barrier in the national disability insurance scheme which is denying older Australians with motor neurone disease hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. If a diagnosis comes after the age of 65 MND patients are pushed onto a different scheme where the funding is a fraction of that available under the NDIS.
