Hazrat Ibrahim Ben Adhem (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) was the renowned Sufi saint. As per different traditions, Imam Bukhari's family was from Iraq. He was born in modern-day Afghanistan (Balkh). However, some authors wrote that his lineage belongs to Hazrat Abdullah, the grandson of Hazrat Imam Hussain (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him), the son of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, and the brother of Hazrat Ja'far al-Sadiq.
