पूरी दुनिया में हर साल करीब 15 अरब पेड़ काटे भी जा रहे हैं. यानी दुनिया की कुल आबादी के दोगुना पेड़ों की हरसाल कटौती होती है. आंकड़ों के मुताबिक दुनिया की जनसंख्या अभी 7 अरब से ज्यादा है. अगर प्रतिव्यक्ति पेड़ों की बात करें तो 30 खरब 4 अरब पेड़ों में से 422 पेड़ प्रति व्यक्ति के हिसाब से होते हैं.
