Chloe Isleta ends gold medal drought for Filipina swimmers | Sports Desk

For almost 30 years, Philippine swimming finally has a new golden girl from the Southeast Asian Games!

Chloe Isleta topped the women's 200-meter backstroke event in Vietnam clocking in at 2 minutes and 18.60 seconds. Isleta is the first Filipina swimmer to win a SEA Games gold since swimming legend Akiko Thompson won silver medals in the women's 100-meter backstroke and in the 4 by 100 medley relay event.
