Alpine regions seeing up to 30 centimetres of snowfall

A strong cold front is bringing heavy rain, snow, and damaging winds to the south-east of the country. Falls of up to 30 centimetres have been recorded in the past 24 hours and the timing couldn't be better for Alpine resorts gearing up for the start of the ski season.
