On Thursday the Duchess of Sussex went to the community centre to honour victims of the tragic school shooting that killed 21 people, including 19 children. On May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Rolando Ramos fatally shot nineteen children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. He also wounded seventeen other people before being shot by the United States Border Patrol Tactical Unit. The horrific incident is the third-deadliest American school shooting, after the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007 and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012.
