The Bureau of Meteorology has released a special report into the destructive floods in Queensland and NSW in late February and early March. It confirms century-old records were smashed because of a series of weather systems delivered intense rainfall to already sodden soils. The bureau says that while climate change did not cause the weather event, it may have contributed to its severity.
