The federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers says China needs to demonstrate it wants a better diplomatic relationship by dropping trade sanctions. The Chinese Premier has written to Anthony Albanese congratulating him on his election victory. It's the first high-level diplomatic contact in more than two years.
