Govt's knee-jerk reaction on chicken supply could lead to other problems, says Loke

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has warned the government that short-term knee-jerk reactions taken to solve the issue of chicken supply could lead to other economic problems.

He said the government should instead look for more comprehensive and long term solutions to the problem.

Loke said this while commenting on the governments announcement to stop the exports of up to 3.6 million chickens to Singapore from June 1 until chicken prices and production stabilise.
