Angel Shark Hiding in the Sand

Angel sharks are one of the weirdest marine animals. They hides themselves in sand on the ocean floor. They wait for prey to come. Whenever, a fish or a lobster comes near it, the shark suddenly jumps out from the sand to catch the prey.

Angle sharks belong to the shark family named "Squatinidae". Some people call them monkfish.

The shark has a flat body. It resembles a ray. The flat body helps it hide itself in the sandy sea floor.

The shark generally try to avoid humans - as you can see in the video. But it is not advisable to touch it, it is actually a shark. A bite can be painful and bloody. It has a strong jaw with sharp teeth.
