Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave this good news by tweeting last evening that the central government has reduced the central excise duty on petrol and diesel. The Center has reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 and diesel by Rs 6, making petrol cheaper by Rs 9.50 and diesel by Rs 7. These prices came into effect from 12 midnight.
