Assam Faces Flash Floods, Nearly Two Lakh People Affected In 20 Districts; Hojai, Cachar, Nagaon Worst Hit

Nearly two lakh people have been affected in over 20 districts due to severe floods in Assam. As reported by PTI, the hill district of Dima Hasao has got cut off from the rest of the state, an official bulletin said on May 16. Two people died in Cachar district. Three deaths were reported from Dima Hasao. Hojai and Cachar are the worst hit with 78,157 and 51,357 people affected respectively, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) bulletin said as reported by PTI. Several roads, houses, bridges have been damaged due to the tragedy. Railway stations have also been flooded. A passenger train was also washed off the tracks. Watch the video to know more.
