PKR's Petaling MP Maria Chin Abdullah said that the remarks by Home Minister Hamzah Zainudin on party hopping gave an indication that the anti-hopping bill may not happen on June 7th, the date that MPs were being called back to Parliament to debate and supposedly pass the bill.

According to Maria the remarks were flawed but were used as a justification by those who were involved in the Sheraton move in 2020.
