Mukul Goel, chief of the police in Uttar Pradesh has been removed from his post, the state government said on May 11. As reported by NDTV, the Uttar Pradesh state government said in a statement that Director General of Police Mukul Goel was ‘not taking interest in work’ and was ‘disobeying orders’. Additional Director General of Police Prashant Kumar has, for now, taken over Goel’s duties. Certain reports suggest that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was unhappy with Goel’s performance. Goel had taken over as UP’s top cop in July 2021. Watch the video to know more.
